Woman ‘Feels Dumb’ for Not Knowing This Hassle-Free Way Of Inserting Trash Bags Into the Bin All This Time
A regular life involves myriads of odd tasks daily. Believe it or not, the aspect has become a niche on social media. Now, influencers are discovering inventive ways to do right by those fairly mundane tasks, rebranding them as life hacks. Momfluencer Sasha Dennocenzo (@sashadenno) has taken the internet by storm with her viral TikTok video about effortlessly lining a trash bag into the bin. The hack has sparked a debate on the relevance of the correct way to insert a trash bag.
Viral garbage bag hack
Dennocenzo posted a video demonstrating the seemingly correct way to insert a trash bag into a bin. She revealed that garbage bags are packaged inside out by manufacturers for the customer’s ease of using them. However, the majority of people have been directly inserting the bag as it comes into the bin, and with much fuss. Hence, the mom stated in the video, “I was today years old when I found out garbage bags come inside out in the box. Install like this and they are right side up!”
The TikTok post has gone viral and amassed over 13 million views. In the video, Dennocenzo attempted to show how a trash bag is accurately installed without unnecessary fluttering of the bags before inserting them. She adjusted the neck of the bag on the bin before pushing it in neatly. If that’s not all, the momfluencer implied that not knowing the life hack and doing the task wrong all these years made her feel dumb. She wrote in the caption, “Now I feel dumb.” Her expression was echoed by many other users under the post. Even though Dennocenzo has a mere 3K fanbase, her garbage bin hack appears to be a hit amongst TikTok users. Fans flooded the comments to offer their two cents on the hack.
TikTok users debate on the trash bag hack
Several users agreed with Dennocenzo’s way of installing the trash bag and expressed regret over their unawareness. @RedBarnTieDyeLara quite intensely wrote, “At this point, I’m not sure I’m even breathing right since everything I’m doing is wrong.” Another comment by @medinaphoenix3 suggested life would be better with “instructions.” “I feel like my life has been a circle of lies and tricks,” @Jenni quipped. @Soph said that they have a master’s degree but are still learning about "useful" hacks on the social media platform.
However, a fair share of users were barely impressed and contested the TikTok influencer’s hack saying there is no right side up for a garbage bag. While others implied they were not bothered about it at all. Other outlets like Good Morning America and Taste of Home have previously discussed the relevance of the garbage bin hack. The latter suggests that the "end result" of both ways is the same. Meanwhile, trash bags certainly serve a crucial purpose in modern life. A household item that is utilized regularly first came into existence in 1950, per CBC. Greater innovation has resulted in reusable trash bags although, their practicality is still under question.
